Catherine Shaw
Born 1945 in Edinburgh and educated at Esdaile School, Edinburgh, Catherine trained and worked as a state registered nurse at St Bartholomew’s Hospital in London, from 1964 to 1969.
She resumed nursing at Strathcarron Hospice in Denny, Scotland, from1981 to 1985 and gained the OHNC (Occupational Health Nursing Certificate) from Queen Margaret College, Edinburgh in1986.
Catherine was then employed with Forth Valley Health Board as an Occupational Health Sister from 1986 to 1989.
From 1989 to 2004 Catherine was employed by the then 'Lauder College' as a Lecturer in Child, Health, and Social Care and gained a TQFE (Teaching Qualification for Further Education) while working there.
Catherine retired in 2004 but remains very active with golf, pilates, yoga, and her 8 grandchildren. Catherine sings in Church choir and loves photography, her garden and her harp.
She maintains a keen interest in Strathcarron Hospice as well as holding her Board position with Crossroads Caring Scotland.
